At J Floyd Engineering, we are your advocate and your representative, combining detailed technical knowledge and experience as a Chartered Engineer with a commitment to meeting your needs.

Not affected by conflicting interest, we represent you, the owner, developer, tenant, through all facets of planning, design, development and construction. Renovation

Whether you are looking for a complete renovation of a property, or are converting or extending a care-worn space, we create sophisticated high-end living spaces with perfect form and function, for a home that not only looks beautiful, but incorporates your unique requirements for a living space.

House Extensions

Building Regulation Sign Off 

J Floyd Engineering can act as the Assigned Certifier for your project.  We can act as a single point of contact for co-ordination of the design, inspection and certification of a building project from the design stage (pre-commencement), until completion.

Planning Applications

We will advise if a project requires planning permission and produce the relevant information for making an application to the local authority. We may also be engaged to provide services in connection with planning appeals, liasing with planning authorities on behalf of clients.

Our story

Over the course of the past 14 years following my graduation from CIT with a degree in Structural Engineering (BEng Honours), I have gained  a vast amount of experience in the construction industry. I emigrated to London and set up the company J Floyd Engineering Ltd in 2008 and managed a number of notable projects from one off deep retrofits including multi levels basements to running a multi-million Pound mixed use development.

Last year I returned to Ireland with my wife and two young children and set up the Irish company in June of last year, utilising all my knowledge of running a successful company over a 12 year period in London.

As a Chartered Engineer CEng MIEI, I hold a seal of approval from my peers for my knowledge and competence in the construction and project management field.
